The Austin American-Statesman's "Season of Caring" charity campaign will begin on Sunday,
November 30, 2008.  This program highlights 12 different families in need, in an attempt to help the families through donations from contributors in the Austin area.  The program has been very successful in the past 10 years and is a life changing event for the recipient families. 

The Lake Travis Crisis Ministries submitted a client from our area for the "Season of Caring" charity campaign, and he was chosen!  The donations received from this program will transform his life.  Look for the story to begin on November 30th and follow the program's progress in the newspaper through the holiday season-it will touch you! 

The Lake Travis Fire and Rescue's Green Santa program will launch soon!  This program provides Christmas gifts, food, toys for the needy in our area.  Many of the recipients are the clients from the Ministries. This fantastic program is coordinated by our own Jeanne Jarvis!

The recent economic downturn has been felt by all of us, including our clients.  The Capital Area Food Bank has been hit hard and unable to provide the quantity or staples we need to hand out at the Ministries.  Since most of our food is purchased at the Capital Area Food Bank, we have been supplementing each week by purchasing needed food. 

The Lake Travis Crisis Ministries has been the recipient of several food drives in the past few months.  Girl Scout Troops, Boy Scouts, Lake Travis High School, churches, many individuals, and the Lakeway Inn have all worked to bring food (and other necessities) to the Lake Travis Crisis Ministries for the Thanksgiving holiday and beyond!  Because of their hard work and your generosity, many of our clients had a Thanksgiving meal and our shelves are filled again!

We are always open to new ideas, fund raisers, food drives!  We could not exist without your help!!
